Nominated ODM MCA Renee Mayaka Nyamira County supports Governor Nyagirima on coronavirus preparedness

Nominated MCA Renee Mayaka of ODM, has come out to defend the Nyamira Governor Hon John Nyagirima. The MCA who has ambitions of becoming the next Women Rep of Nyamira posted on her official Facebook account.

I have been tagged severally to the post by our Governor regarding level of preparedness by Nyamira County should their be a patient or patients who test positive.

I went in search of answers including pursuing a special sitting that would enable Us question the same and this is what I got as a response;

1. That what was shared are quarantine facilities to house those who might feel exposed to COVID-19 but don’t have the symptoms and do not have adequate space to quarantine at home.

2. That the actual isolation facility prepared should there be a postive COVID -19 Case is as pictured below complete with the necessary machinery required for treatment as one of the symptoms is lack of breathe.

This is definitely not World Class standard by all means, but for a start it’s much better than what was shared. Together with Members of the Health Committee, we will be doing random checks on level of preparedness in due course.

My government and the the county government of Nyamira at large is very much ready and has already identified two complete isolation facilities. 15 bed ward both for male and female has been prepared at the County hospital as well as the Bombangi dispensary in Township ward. Hundreds of medical officers have been trained on the pandemic and the County government is doing all that it takes to sensitise the public on possible ways of prevention
