Bishop Titus Khamala speaks on why he keeps a simple Life.

Since his election to office back in 2017, the Lurambi Mna Bishop Hon Titus Khamala has kept a simple normal life like riding on a motorcycle to work, driving himself to functions, interacting with wananchi at the market among others.

When asked, Bishop Titus Khamala had this to say;

“Lurambi is my home, I was born here in Kakamega, raised here in Eshisiru, same to my grandparents and ancestors. It will be very ridiculous for me to arrive in a function in the company of bouncers and high security detail. This are my people, my kinsmen who can’t hurt or kill me,” he said.

“Moving around with a battery of cars and bouncers opening car doors for me amongst my cousins, my uncles will be disrespectful and derisive.” he continued.

He proceeded to state that the office he sits in is an office that belongs to the good people of Lurambi and therefore, living a flamboyance life will be insulting the people that elected him to office.

The Lurambi lawmaker proceeded to caution elected and appointed leaders living a flamboyant life asking them to respect the office they serve saying that tables can change anytime.

“I have seen so many leaders go downhill after loosing power, they get blood pressure, get depressed, become sick, get broke because when they were elected to office, they adapted a high class life despising the people that elavated them. I sympathies with them because they don’t know the working of God, they don’t understand that God exalts and again he can bring you down.” he warned.

He continued to say that public offices belong to the people and should be respected. He asked elected and appointed leaders to stop looking down on people and instead serve the people with humility bearing in mind the offices they hold aren’t permanent.

The Mp completed his message by stating that leaders who visit a function or a gathering with a team of bouncers shoving people all over ni washamba.
