Broke Gormahia fail to honor Betway cup match against Posta Rangers as Afc survive Ushuru scare

Smarting from a one nil derby win against arch rivals Afc leopards, Gor mahia’s exit from Betway sponsored FKF cup is looming.

According to sources, Gor mahia failed to honor their match against posta rangers due to financial constraints. Gor mahia players had not resumed training after the mashemeji derby due to unavailability of funds.
Match officials for Posta Rangers versus Gor Mahia tie, Badir Yasin, Fred Akida, Beatrice Achieng’, Wilson Otieno (fourth officials) and match com Sylvester Musonye called off the match after Gor Mahia failed to turn up.
K’Ogalo’s team manager Jolawi Obondo when contacted said that they had written to FKF requesting the postponement of the match.
“We had written to FKF and requested the federation to postpone the match for another date as we shall not travel to Nakuru, due to the covid 19 scare” said Obondo
The two matches were supposed to be played in an empty stadium as part of the precautionary measures to stop the spread of coronavirus.
A handful supporters of K’Ogalo who were unaware of the cancellation of the match went home disappointed.
Only security personnel, sponsors, ball boys, stadium staff and journalists were allowed into the empty stadium.

On Sunday Afc leopards vs Ushuru match ended in a barren draw prompting the match to be decided on penalties. Afc leopards carried the day on a 4:2 win and will now proceed to quarters
